The repository of versions at has a newer 8.2.7.1 version which works. TMT starts perfectly fine when AnyDVD HD 8.2.0.5 is running.įor completeness, I went ahead and tried every version of AnyDVD HD from 8.2.0.5 to 8.2.7.1 with the following results : Not experiencing this behavior with AnyDVD HD 8.2.0.5 or earlier and to verify the behavior is due to the new version, reinstalled the old version. I tested each version of TotalMedia Theatre 6 in an attempt to locate the issue before realizing it was AnyDVD HD 8.2.7.0 causing the failure to launch, with the following results: AnyDVD HD 8.2.7.0 must be closed for TMT to start.

Removing the check by "Enable AnyDVD" does not fix the issue and the issue persists whether default or custom settings are used. TMT terminates correctly through both Task Manager and the not responding dialog and can be reopened with consistent results.Īs soon as AnyDVD HD 8.2.7.0 is exited, TotalMedia Theatre can be started perfectly fine and AnyDVD HD 8.2.7.0 can then be restarted without causing any further issues.

TMT starts with it's spinning, rotary loading icon, attempts to open it's GUI window, and hangs with the GUI window remaining an indefinite solid black and Windows reporting the program is not responding. AnyDVD HD is a Windows software that removes the restrictions of DVD and Blu-ray media automatically in the background and transparently enable read access of the contents of a movie as soon as it’s inserted into the drive. I'm not asking for help trying to install or get TotalMedia Theatre to run, it runs just fine. New: PowerDVD 14 UHD OEM is now supported by AnyDVDs unique Cinavia fix - New (UHD Blu-ray): Fetch AACS keys from external file for use with 'UHD-friendly' drives. I doubt theres any need beyond what AnyDVD HD has now.

In defense of my post, I would make the same inquiry as to why AnyDVD HD would interfere with Word 97 (also deprecated), if that were the case (just an example), as obviously change made between the versions I've noted has caused an unwanted side-effect and I think developers should know when there could be potential issues with their product. I realize TotalMedia Theatre is deprecated software, but TMT + Virtual CloneDrive still work better for my media needs than any other software I've used and I don't replace a working car just because there are newer ones available.
